Pop Culture Reference
Our pop culture has been greatly affected by the supernatural. A popular show called Wizards of Waverly place is a show about a family of wizards living in New York City. The show is a show based on supernatural beings with powers.
Character Analysis
The theme of supernatural all ties back to the three witches when they first appeared in the play. They first predicted Macbeth's future and foretold Fleance son of Banquo's future as well. After the first meet with Banquo and Macbeth they disappeared into thin air, they use magic frequently and they can predict the future and much more. The witches are described as creatures not from this earth by Banquo. They are the supernatural behind the play.
Current Supernatural Happenings
UFOs are a common supernatural sighting in 2012 Americans issued 600 reports a month. Humans have been praising extraterrestrial beings for thousands of years. Millions of people believe in aliens without the hard facts know one knows if they are real or not. There are groups of scientists and professions who investigate aliens. The are not a normal occurrence on earth which makes them supernatural. Nobody really knows if they exist or not but there has to be something out there if thousands of people report it.
Quotes and the Supernatural
"That look not like the inhabitants o' the earth, and yet are on't?" Banquo, Act 1, Scene 3.
Banquo describes the witches as creatures not from earth. The witches do not look like anything that belong on the earth yet they are. It is a mystery that haunts everyone's minds, where do they come from if they are not of relevance to this earth. With out definite fact they could be roaming the earth in secrecy because they are not average humans they are different. Witches are feared and rarely praised for their so called magic powers. Witches are of the supernatural their powers distinguish them and makes them non-human. They are anything but ordinary, they do not belong because they are supernatural.
"The king, who all-hailed me 'Thane of Cawdor;' by which title, before, these weird sisters saluted me, and referred
me to the coming of time, with 'Hail, king that shalt be!' Macbeth, Act 1 Scene 5
Macbeth writes to Lady Macbeth telling her he had been crowned Thane of Cawdor just like the witches said. He
finds it strange that it came true but he was also very happy with the good news. It is supernatural because the
three witches had for told Macbeth's future and it was fulfilled. It was an unreal occurrence that helped outline his
future and push him to do immoral deeds.
"Is this the dagger I see before me, the handle toward my hand? come let me clutch thee. I have not thee yet I still see thee." Macbeth, Act 2 Scene 1
Macbeth can see a dagger but when he tried to take it he cannot grab a hold of it. The dagger does stays floating in the air while he talks to himself. It is supernatural because it is like a ghost and he cannot hold it in his hands. Not only is it floating but it also disappears after it covers itself in blood. He does not believe what he is seeing because it is not normal. It is an paranormal experience Macbeth has never experienced something so supernatural before.
"Duncan's horses—a thing most strange and certain— Beauteous and swift, the minions of their race,
Turn'd wild in nature, broke their stalls, flung out, Contending 'gainst obedience, as they would make War
with mankind." Ross, Act 2 Scene 4.
Ross talks about how the horses acted strangely and disobeyed Duncan's wishes. Just like Duncan's horses
Lady Macbeth and Macbeth were being disobedient on the night of the murder. It is an unnatural coincident that
they both are betraying Duncan and they also become insane at the same time. Not only did his companions act
up but the weather was disastrous, storm clouds brewing and lightning striking. Everything that happened made it
an extremely horrendous and abnormal night. It was an unruly act committed by misleading friends and acts from
the supernatural.
